No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Vagos (12-6) beat at home 8th ranked CDEFF (6-12) 66-61 on Sunday. They outrebounded CDEFF 48-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Colombian forward Manuela Rios (165-1997) who scored that evening 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American Devon Brookshire (190-1994, college: St.Mary's, CA) supported her with 8 points and 16 rebounds. Vagos' coach Joao Janeiro used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Even 24 points by American forward Dayna Rouse (183, college: Longwood) did not help to save the game for CDEFF. Her fellow American import guard Kate Andersen (175-1997, college: Portland) added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Vagos maintains fifth position with 12-6 record. Newly promoted CDEFF keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. Vagos will meet at home CAB Madeira (#7) in the next round. CDEFF will play against Guifoes and hope to secure a win.
