The game in Yerevan supposed to be quite interesting. Fourth ranked Artsakh (5-11) played at the court of 5th ranked Les Foxes (2-12). Artsakh smashed Les Foxes 69-48 on Tuesday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Artsakh's pressure prevailed and they won that period 30-16 extending their advantage to 21 points. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Les Foxes to just 7 points in third quarter. Artsakh dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Les Foxes' 14. Artsakh forced 22 Les Foxes turnovers and had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Nyra Williams (165-1998, college: VCU) who scored 30 points and 5 steals. Guard Seda Gabrielyan (167-2007) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was Meri Grigoryan (165-2002) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds and swingman Lusine Titanyan (168-2003) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Artsakh maintains fourth place with 5-11 record. Les Foxes lost seventh consecutive game. Defending champion stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Artsakh will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Les Foxes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Yerevan Hatis.
