Bottom-ranked Arkadia Lions managed to get the third consecutive victory. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Timberwolves in Traiskirchen 92-72. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference proves that Arkadia Lions was well-prepared to that game. The game was mostly controlled by Arkadia Lions. Timberwolves was better in third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arkadia Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Timberwolves' 24. They outrebounded Timberwolves 40-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. Arkadia Lions players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Timberwolves were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Taveion Hollingsworth (188-1999, college: WKU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import forward Karl Gamble (206-1996, college: MTSU, agency: Players Group) accounted for 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Arkadia Lions players scored in double figures. Slovenian center Ziga Fifolt (210-1993) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and forward Philipp DAngelo (198-1989) added 15 points respectively for Timberwolves in the defeat. Timberwolves' coach Hubert Schmidt rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Arkadia Lions have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain tenth place with 5-13 record. Timberwolves at the other side keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Wels. Arkadia Lions will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Timberwolves will play at home against Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
