Second Stage Round 11: Neptunas-Akv. - Kretinga 83-71

Everything could happen in Klaipeda at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked Neptunas-Akv. and 11th ranked Kretinga had identical 10-24 record. This time Neptunas-Akv. used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Kretinga 83-71 on Thursday night. Neptunas-Akv. shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Gediminas Lesciauskas (197-2001) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Adomas Sidarevicius (188-2001) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Neptunas-Akv.'s coach Simonas Serapinas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Mintautas Mockus (201-2003) came up with 17 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Domininkas Matutis (178-1991) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for Kretinga in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Neptunas-Akv. (11-24) moved-up to eleventh place. Kretinga lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 25 games lost. Neptunas-Akv. will meet Vilnius (#13) on the road in the next round. Kretinga will play against Vytis and hope to secure a win.
