Targu Secuiesc managed to secure a 8-point victory 76-68 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Targu Mures. Targu Mures were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Targu Secuiesc looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian point guard Ines Corda (169-1995) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 4 assists. American guard Jaiamoni Welch-Coleman (165-1997, college: Weber St.) accounted for 17 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Welch-Coleman attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on her way to pro basketball. American power forward Ruth Sherrill (183-1994, college: Temple) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Alexis Cortez (183, college: Utah Valley) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Targu Mures in the defeat. Four Targu Mures players scored in double figures. Targu Mures' coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Targu Secuiesc moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Targu Mures. Targu Secuiesc will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Targu Mures will play against Cluj Napoca (#8) and hope to secure a win.
