Regular Season Round 23: Reutlingen - Bensheim 99-77

No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Reutlingen (7-10) smashed at home 13th ranked Bensheim (6-14) 99-77 on Saturday. Reutlingen dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bensheim's 30. They outrebounded Bensheim 53-34 including 18 on the offensive glass. Reutlingen looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bensheim's players. It was a great evening for David Grubic who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Noel Duarte (186-2001) helped adding 16 points and 11 rebounds. Four Reutlingen players scored in double figures. Reutlingen's coach Vasilios Tsouknidis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Philip Jenkins (188-1990, college: Life) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Tilman Isensee (206-1987) scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Reutlingen moved-up to ninth place in South West, which they share with Kaiserslautern. Bensheim at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Reutlingen will meet Limburg (#11) on the road in the next round. Bensheim will play against Kaiserslautern and hope to secure a win.
