Very predictable result when third ranked Duesseldorf (12-7) won against at home 8th ranked Kangaroos (8-9) 86-73 on Saturday. The winners were led by American guard Booker Coplin (191-1997, college: Augsburg) who scored that evening 28 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals and point guard Samuel Mpacko (187-1998) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists. Duesseldorf's coach Florian Flabb used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by Moritz Huebner (200-1997) did not help to save the game for Kangaroos. Center Alexander Moeller (208-1998) added 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Kangaroos players scored in double figures. Duesseldorf maintains third position in North with 12-7 record having six points less than leader Muenster. Loser Kangaroos keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Duesseldorf will meet league's second-placed Wolmirstedt on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kangaroos will play against the league's leader Muenster (#1) and hope to secure a win.
