Second Stage Round 12: Kretinga - Vytis 83-89

Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Vytis (21-15) defeated on the road 12th ranked Kretinga (10-26) 89-83 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was point guard Simonas Kriauciunas (185-1998) who scored 20 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Aurelijus Pukelis (205-1994) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Edgaras Preibys (201-2002) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and guard Mintautas Mockus (201-2003) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Vytis and four Kretinga players scored in double figures. Vytis maintains ninth position with 21-15 record. Kretinga lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth place with 26 games lost. Vytis will meet at home Neptunas-Akv. (#11) in the next round. Kretinga will play against Delikatesas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
