There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Tofas (12-10) lost at home to tenth ranked Bursaspor (11-10) 90-83 on Sunday. Bursaspor made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American-Montenegrin point guard Derek Needham (180-1990, college: Fairfield) who scored that evening 35 points (!!!) and the former international swingman Onuralp Bitim (196-1999) supported him with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Bursaspor players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Elgin Cook (197-1993, college: Oregon, agency: BeoBasket) did not help to save the game for Tofas. International swingman Yigit Arslan (198-1996) added 19 points and 4 assists. Bursaspor maintains tenth position with 11-10 record. Tofas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Besiktas. Bursaspor will meet Buyukcekmece (#14) on the road in the next round. Tofas will play against Yalova (#13) and hope to secure a win.
