There was an upset when 4th placed Chemnitz (15-7) was outplayed on the road by ninth ranked BG Goettingen (12-8) 90-69 on Sunday. BG Goettingen shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American point guard Stephen Brown Jr (180-1996, college: Bucknell) who scored 20 points. His fellow American import guard Kamar Baldwin (185-1997, college: Butler) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists. Four BG Goettingen players scored in double figures. American forward Darion Atkins (203-1992, college: Virginia) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and guard Nelson Weidemann (190-1999) added 12 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BG Goettingen moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Crailsheim. Loser Chemnitz keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Ludwigsburg. BG Goettingen will meet Skyliners (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chemnitz will have a break next round.
