Regular Season Round 18: Zalgiris I - Tornado KM 63-100

Very expected game in Kaunas where 12th ranked Zalgiris I (2-13) was crushed by sixth ranked Tornado KM (9-9) 100-63 on Sunday. The game without a history. Tornado KM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Tornado KM had a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Tornado KM looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Nojus Adomavicius (189-2004) who scored 29 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Sarunas Morkevicius (181-2004) chipped in 13 points, 9 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Kajus Kaneckas (196-2004) who recorded 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Alanas Atkaciunas (158-2004) added 13 points respectively. Zalgiris I's coach Donatas Velicka gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Tornado KM maintains sixth position with 9-9 record. Zalgiris I lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Tornado KM will meet at home KKM I (#10) in the next round. Zalgiris I will play against Saule in Siauliai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
