Regular Season Round 24: Bball Loewen - Hanau 83-69

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Loewen (13-7) beat 10th ranked White Wings (7-12) in Erfurt 83-69 on Sunday. Loewen made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by American Tyseem Lyles (185-1992, college: Mercy) who scored that evening 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Noah Kamdem (198-1998) supported him with 23 points and 8 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Loewen's coach Uvis Helmanis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points and 6 rebounds by Dion Mohammed Braimoh (195-1999) did not help to save the game for White Wings. Point guard Niklas Krause (198-2002) added 19 points and 4 steals. Loewen have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position in South with 13-7 record having four points less than leader Muenster. Loser White Wings keep the tenth place with 12 games lost. Loewen will meet at home Coburg (#7) in the next round. White Wings will play against the league's second-placed Koblenz and hope to secure a win.
