Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked VK-Kamane (1-15) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Vilniaus Svaja (12-2) 88-54 on Sunday. Vilniaus Svaja dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to VK-Kamane's 26. They outrebounded VK-Kamane 56-34 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vilniaus Svaja looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by VK-Kamane's players. The best player for the winners was Moldovan-Russian forward Irina Michailova (190-1981) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Vilniaus Svaja's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Olga Fomina (164-1989) who recorded 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Brigita Kleponyte (178-1999) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Vilniaus Svaja maintains third position in Lyga with 12-2 record having five points less than leader Alytaus. Loser VK-Kamane keeps the tenth place with 15 games lost. Vilniaus Svaja will meet Akmenes P. (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. VK-Kamane will play against Akmenes P. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
