There was no surprise when 16th ranked Miercurea Ciuc (4-18) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Ploiesti CSM (10-11) 79-65 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Ploiesti CSM. Miercurea Ciuc managed to win second period 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Miercurea Ciuc to just 7 points in third quarter. Serbian forward Matija Milin (206-1995, college: Fairfield, agency: Interperformances) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American center Earl Watson (201-1990, college: URI) chipped in 15 points and 12 rebounds. Five Ploiesti CSM players scored in double figures. Ploiesti CSM's coach Mihai Popa used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Canadian forward Lam Lock (206, college: Lakehead) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and Serbian guard Branislav Vujadinovic (196-1997, college: Assumption) scored 15 points. Ploiesti CSM moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sibiu. Miercurea Ciuc lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost.
