Anagennises toppled AEL in the championship series opener. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 53-44. Anagennises forced 20 AEL turnovers and outrebounded them 56-32 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-1995, college: CBU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds for the winners and Mezra Torlak (172-2002) chipped in 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists.
