Regular Season Round 24: Westerstede - Neustadt TSV 97-106

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Neustadt TSV (15-9) won against on the road 6th ranked Westerstede (12-10) 106-97 on Friday. Neustadt TSV made 35-of-46 free shots (76.1 percent) during the game, while Westerstede only scored sixteen points from the stripe. Neustadt TSV forced 24 Westerstede turnovers. The winners were led by American-Jamaican center Brandon McLean (201-1995, college: Huntingdon) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and Dutch point guard Dyon Doekhi (188-1987) supported him with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Even 19 points and 7 rebounds by Felix Meyer-tonndorf (195) did not help to save the game for Westerstede. Point guard Dario Stojanovski (184-2003) added 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Westerstede's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Neustadt TSV maintains fourth position in North with 15-9 record. Loser Westerstede keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Neustadt TSV will meet Bergedorf (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Westerstede will play against Bramsche (#14) and hope to secure a win.
