Rather expected game when 4th ranked Saarlouis (11-7) lost at home to second ranked Giessen Pointers (15-5) 91-76 on Friday. Giessen Pointers outrebounded Saarlouis 47-30 including 34 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Benjamin Lischka (204-1989, agency: LUMANI 10.7) who scored that evening 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Christoph Kenntemich (174-1997) supported him with 23 points. Four Giessen Pointers players scored in double figures. Giessen Pointers' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 29 points by American guard Ricky Easterling (189-1983, college: Bridgewater) did not help to save the game for Saarlouis. Guard Jesse Chidera Ani (191-2002) added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Giessen Pointers have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of South West leader. Loser Saarlouis keep the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Tuebingen 2. Giessen Pointers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Saarlouis will play again against the league's leader Giessen Pointers (#1) and hope to secure a win.
