There was no surprise when 10th ranked SSV Lok Bernau (7-13) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Schwelm (12-9) 85-69 on Saturday. Schwelm looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Glen Burns (191-1995, college: Chicago St.) fired 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. His fellow American import CJ Oldham (201-1991, college: Gannon) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Five Schwelm players scored in double figures. American center Dan Oppland (201-1984, college: Valpo) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Gian Aydinoglu (188-2003) added 18 points and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Schwelm maintains fifth place in North with 12-9 record. Loser SSV Lok Bernau keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Schwelm will meet league's second-placed Wolmirstedt on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
