We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fourteenth ranked Bramsche (6-18) crushed on the road 13th ranked Cuxhaven (6-16) 98-48 on Saturday. Bramsche forced 20 Cuxhaven turnovers and outrebounded them 46-26 including a 36-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Swedish guard Hugo Florestedt (196-1998, college: Temple JC) who scored that evening 21 points and 7 rebounds and center Lukas Spanke (204-1987) supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Bramsche players scored in double figures. Even 10 points and 9 rebounds by Leon Oshodin did not help to save the game for Cuxhaven. Marc Klesper (191-2000) added 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bramsche maintains fourteenth position in North with 6-18 record. Cuxhaven lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Bramsche will meet at home higher ranked Westerstede (#6) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cuxhaven will play against Berlin BG 2000 (#8) and hope to secure a win.
