Regular Season Round 19: Towers - Piraten 99-80

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 5th ranked Worthersee Piraten (6-10) was outscored by sixth ranked Towers (6-10) in Kufstein 99-80 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 19 points. Towers dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Worthersee Piraten's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Worthersee Piraten's players. It was an exceptional evening for Slovenian point guard Luka Bozak (187-2000) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists. Spanish forward Jose Ignacio Giraldez (200-1997) accounted for 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Slovenian forward Simon Finzgar (196-1980) came up with 30 points and Slovenian Jure Bavdek (-1997) added 19 points and 7 assists respectively for Worthersee Piraten in the defeat. Five Towers and four Worthersee Piraten players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Towers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Piraten. Worthersee Piraten lost their fourth game in a row.
