Second Stage Round 14: Zalgiris II - Gargzdu 80-67

The most important game in the last round took place in Kaunas between third ranked Gargzdu (29-9) and seventh ranked Zalgiris II (17-21) on Saturday night. Gargzdu was defeated by Zalgiris II on the road 67-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gargzdu. They outrebounded Gargzdu 41-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. Center Motiejus Krivas (213-2004) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points and 14 rebounds. Mantas Rubstavicius (198-2002) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Zalgiris II's coach Vytautas Pliauga used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Mindaugas Stasys (179-1986) replied with 14 points and 6 assists and guard Ernestas Jonkus (187-1999) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Gargzdu. Zalgiris II moved-up to sixth place. Gargzdu at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost.
