Regular Season Round 24: Reutlingen - Limburg 83-87

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Limburg (8-12) beat on the road 9th ranked Reutlingen (7-11) 87-83 on Saturday. Limburg forced 19 Reutlingen turnovers. Strangely Reutlingen outrebounded Limburg 44-27 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by American power forward KJ Sherrill (203-1991, college: Augusta) who scored that evening 26 points and 8 rebounds and guard Justin Stallbohm (182-1992) supported him with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 15 points and 17 rebounds by David Grubic did not help to save the game for Reutlingen. Jonathan Ryan Patterson added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Limburg moved-up to eighth place in South West, which they share with Ulm BBU 01. Newly promoted Reutlingen dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Kaiserslautern. Limburg will meet Kaiserslautern (#10) on the road in the next round. Reutlingen will play against Ulm BBU 01 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
