Regular Season Round 25: Constanta - Timisoara 65-71 OT

Constanta (#9) forced the game against Timisoara (#6) into an overtime, but lost by six points 65-71 on Saturday night. The game took place in Constanta. But the guests from Timisoara were better at the end. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-12. But Constanta won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Constanta used huge pressure winning it 16-13 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 3-9. Timisoara made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Constanta turnovers. American guard Darrion Strong-Moore (185-1994, college: UAFS) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Gary Talton (185-1990, college: UIC, agency: 011 Sports) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side the former international Vlad Corpodean (192-1991, agency: BIG) responded with 9 points and 9 rebounds and Saint Lucian-Canadian guard Adika Peter-McNeilly (190-1993, college: Ryerson) scored 15 points and 4 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Timisoara. They maintain sixth place with 11-8 record. Loser Constanta keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Steaua B.. Timisoara will meet at home league's second-placed Voluntari in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Constanta will have a break next round.
