Regular Season Round 25: Giessen - ALBA 58-84
Date: March 13, 2022
Very predictable result when sixth ranked ALBA Berlin (15-5) rolled over bottom-ranked 46ers (5-17) in Giessen 84-58 on Sunday. ALBA Berlin dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to 46ers' 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Naturalized Brazilian Oscar Da Silva (206-1998, college: Stanford, agency: BeoBasket) nailed 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Tim Schneider (208-1997) accounted for 18 points. American-South Sudanese Nuni Omot (206-1994, college: Baylor) came up with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Florian Koch (197-1992) added 13 points respectively for 46ers in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ALBA Berlin have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Loser 46ers stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. They share it with Frankfurt. ALBA Berlin will meet at home Braunschweig (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. 46ers will play against MBC (#14) in Weissenfels and hope to secure a win.
