Sixth-ranked Kapfenberg Bulls were very close to win a game against BC Vienna on Sunday. BC Vienna managed to secure only one-point victory 91-90. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 11 points after three quarters before their 34-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BC Vienna made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Michael Hughes (203-1998, college: Duquesne) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). American-Slovakian guard Andre Jones (191-1990, college: Winthrop) contributed with 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. Serbian forward Milos Grubor (201-1991) answered with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Derryck Thornton (190-1997, college: Boston Coll.) added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Kapfenberg Bulls. Four Kapfenberg Bulls players scored in double figures. BC Vienna are looking forward to face UBC St. Poelten in St.Poelten in the next round. Kapfenberg Bulls will play on the road against Gunners Oberwart and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
