Regular Season Round 19: SKM II - Zalgiris II 55-79

There was no surprise in Vilniaus where 9th ranked SKM II (5-13) was crushed by third ranked Zalgiris II (14-2) 79-55. The game without a history. Zalgiris II led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Zalgiris II outrebounded SKM II 50-29 including a 37-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Zalgiris II brought some defensive toughness making 11 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Martynas Jakstys (190-2005) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Gabrielius Kaubrys (195-2004) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Zalgiris II players scored in double figures. Swingman Mantas Janciauskas (193-2004) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Eimantas Liskauskas (183-2004) added 6 points in the effort for SKM II. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris II maintains third place with 14-2 record having just three points less than leader VKKM. SKM II lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Zalgiris II will play against VKM (#4) in Vilniaus in the next round. SKM II will play at home against Tornado KM (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
