Second Stage Round 5: Turk Telekom - Tesvikiye 63-76

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Turk Telekom (4-10) lost to tenth ranked Tesvikiye (4-10) in Ankara 63-76 on Monday. Tesvikiye outrebounded Turk Telekom 48-37 including 38 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Yigit Uysal (184-2004) nailed a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side and Orkun Cavusoglu (-2004) accounted for 8 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Batuhan Acar (179-2002) came up with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Ahmet Gunes (-2004) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Turk Telekom in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tesvikiye moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Turk Telekom. Turk Telekom lost their fourth game in a row. Tesvikiye will meet higher ranked Ozel Gelisim Koleji (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Turk Telekom will play against Pinar Karsiyaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
