There was a minor upset in Izmir where 7th ranked Ozel Gelisim Koleji (7-7) was defeated by ninth ranked Tesvikiye (5-10) 96-82 on Friday. Tesvikiye made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Yigit Uysal (184-2004) who scored 25 points and 7 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Utku Pelit (-2003) chipped in 22 points and 8 assists. Four Tesvikiye players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Mehmet Atalan (198-2003) who recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds and guard Ozgur Cengiz (177-2005) added 17 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Tesvikiye maintains ninth position with 5-10 record, which they share with Turk Telekom. Loser Ozel Gelisim Koleji keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. Tesvikiye will meet at home bottom-ranked Petkim Spor (#12) in the next round.
