An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Alytaus. First ranked Alytaus faced 3rd placed Vilniaus Svaja. Host Alytaus (16-1) smashed guests from Vilniaus (14-3) 83-59. Alytaus forced 21 Vilniaus Svaja turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Rita Zilinskaite (175-1992) who helped to win the game recording 37 points (!!!) and 4 steals. Center Ieva Knyziene (192-1993) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Reda Moderiene (185-1990) answered with 24 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Vitalija Miezyte (173-1988, college: CBU) added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Vilniaus Svaja. Alytaus maintains first place in Lyga with 16-1 record. Newly promoted Vilniaus Svaja keeps the third position with three games lost. Alytaus will play against Panevezio (#7) in Panevezys in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Vilniaus Svaja will have a break next round.
