No shocking result in a game in Bursa where ninth ranked Tofas (13-10) defeated 13th ranked Yalova (6-17) 75-66 on Saturday. Tofas forced 20 Yalova turnovers. Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-1989, college: Wyoming) scored 16 points to lead the charge for the winners and American center Jeremy Simmons (204-1989, college: Charleston) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Slovenian point guard Luka Rupnik (186-1993) responded with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and American center Alec Brown (216-1992, college: Green Bay) scored 11 points. Four Yalova players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tofas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Galatasaray. Yalova lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Tofas will meet Merkezefendi (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Yalova will play against Turk Telekom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
