The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce (#1) and Besiktas (#7). Fenerbahce (20-4) won against visiting Besiktas (13-11) 90-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Besiktas. Fenerbahce made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Strangely Besiktas outrebounded Fenerbahce 42-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was French guard Nando De Colo (196-1987) who scored 24 points. Italian power forward Achille Polonara (202-1991) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. American forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (201-1995, college: Arizona) produced 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Kenan Sipahi (197-1995, agency: BeoBasket) added 23 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Besiktas' coach Ahmet Kandemir rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fenerbahce have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-4 record. Besiktas at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Bahcesehir. Fenerbahce are looking forward to face Pinar Karsiyaka (#4) in Izmir in the next round. Besiktas' supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Galatasaray.
