Regular Season Round 25: Bramsche - Westerstede 80-71

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Bramsche (7-18) defeated at home higher ranked Westerstede (13-11) 80-71 on Saturday. Bramsche forced 19 Westerstede turnovers. Swedish guard Hugo Florestedt (196-1998, college: Temple JC) fired 22 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Christopher Meyer (198-1998) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Bramsche players scored in double figures. Point guard Luca Michels (183-2002) produced 27 points and center Joel Harms (207-2002) added 10 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bramsche moved-up to twelfth place in North, which they share with Bergedorf. Westerstede lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Bramsche will meet higher ranked Stade (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Westerstede will play against Berlin BG 2000 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
