Undefeated leader Benfica delivered the twenty second consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Esgueira (14-8) 77-42 in Lisbon. Benfica forced 24 Esgueira turnovers and outrebounded them 44-28 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Taylor Peacocke (175, college: WWU) scored 14 points to lead the charge for the winners and Brazilian forward Raphaella Monteiro (181-1995) chipped in 4 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American forward Trudy Walker (180, college: Jacksonville) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Ines Ramos scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Benfica (22-0) have an impressive 22-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 22 victories in a row. Esgueira lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with GDESSA.
