Everything could happen in Klagenfurt at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Worthersee Piraten and 5th ranked Towers had identical 6-11 record. This time Worthersee Piraten used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Kufstein 92-70 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Worthersee Piraten. Towers managed to win fourth quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worthersee Piraten shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 52.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Shawn Ray (194-1980, college: NCCU) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists. Slovenian forward Simon Finzgar (196-1980) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Four Worthersee Piraten players scored in double figures. Thomas Pirchner produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and Slovenian point guard Luka Bozak (187-2000) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Worthersee Piraten (7-11) moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Towers dropped to the sixth position with 12 games lost. Worthersee Piraten will meet league's second-placed Raiders Tirol in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Towers will play against Mustangs (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
