Regular Season Round 20: Amager - Falcon 70-73

The most exciting game of round 20 in the Dameligaen took place in Kastrup. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-ranked Amager (11-5) to first ranked Falcon (15-1) 73-70 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Amager. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Amager won fourth quarter 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Falcon dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Amager's 26. Falcon forced 21 Amager turnovers. Strangely Amager outrebounded Falcon 54-35 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international power forward Emilie Hesseldal (185-1990, college: Colorado St.) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds. International point guard Gritt Ryder (175-1992, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Falcon's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international guard Enna Pehadzic (179-1997, college: Vanderbilt) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American swingman Teja Twitty (178, college: UNCG) added 16 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Falcon have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Falcon maintains first position with 15-1 record. Amager at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost.
