Second Stage Round 4: Kapfenberg - St.Poelten 81-83

The most exciting game of round 4 in the BSL took place in Kapfenberg. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (9-12) to fifth ranked UBC St. Poelten (11-10) 83-81 on Wednesday evening. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 22-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Finnish guard Aapeli Alanen (201-1996, agency: Blacktop Management) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Chris Ferguson (206-1989, college: Mid-Continent) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Serbian forward Milos Grubor (201-1991) replied with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Derryck Thornton (190-1997, college: Boston Coll.) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Kapfenberg Bulls. Four Kapfenberg Bulls players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. UBC St. Poelten moved-up to fourth place, which they share with UBSC Graz. Kapfenberg Bulls at the other side keep the sixth position with 12 games lost. UBC St. Poelten is looking forward to face higher ranked Gunners Oberwart (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kapfenberg Bulls will have a break next round.
