No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Timisoara (14-8) beat 9th ranked Steaua B. (11-14) in Bucuresti 79-74 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-11. But Steaua B. won second period 26-25. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for international center Alexandru Olah (210-1993, college: Northwestern) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). American guard Darrion Strong-Moore (185-1994, college: UAFS) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Croatian swingman Davor Konjevic (198-1990, agency: BIG) came up with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists and American center Terrell Carter II (208-1996, college: Fresno St., agency: Haylett Sports) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Steaua B. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Timisoara have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 14-8 record. Loser Steaua B. keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Timisoara will meet at home bottom-ranked Galati (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
