There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Chemnitz (16-9) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Hamburg Towers (14-12) 89-85 on Thursday. Hamburg Towers made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Estonian center Maik-Kalev Kotsar (211-1996, college: S.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Justus Hollatz (191-2001, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 9 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Hamburg Towers players scored in double figures. Hamburg Towers' coach Pedro Calles used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Nelson Weidemann (190-1999) with 28 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian forward Isiaha Mike (203-1997, college: SMU) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Hamburg Towers maintains eighth place with 14-12 record. Chemnitz lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost.
