Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifteenth ranked Socar Petkim and 16th ranked Afyon Bld had identical 4-20 record. This time Socar Petkim used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Afyonkarahisar 109-87 on Thursday night. Socar Petkim outrebounded Afyon Bld 38-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Afyon Bld's players. It was an exceptional evening for American-Puerto Rican point guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) who led the winners and scored 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 9 assists. American Peyton Aldridge (203-1995, college: Davidson) accounted for 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Four Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. American guard Kenny Hayes (189-1987, college: Miami, OH) came up with 27 points and 6 assists and the other American import Wayne Selden (196-1994, college: Kansas) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Afyon Bld in the defeat. Afyon Bld's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Socar Petkim maintains fifteenth place with 5-20 record. Afyon Bld lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Socar Petkim will meet at home higher ranked Bursaspor (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Afyon Bld will play against the league's leader Fenerbahce (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
