Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Bucuresti U. (2-13) beat on the road bottom-ranked Craiova 2 (2-15) 66-59 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-59. Strangely Craiova 2 outrebounded Bucuresti U. 51-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. Matei Manoliu stepped up and scored 25 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Radu Patrascu (-2002) chipped in 6 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Elvis Lapadat responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Iulian Corneanu (197-1989) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Craiova 2's coach tested twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Bucuresti U. went down to tenth position due to points difference. Craiova 2 lost their ninth game in a row. Craiova 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the bottom place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Bucuresti E.. Bucuresti U. will meet league's leader Stiinta in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Craiova 2 will play against Sibiu 2 (#6) and hope to secure a win.
