There was no surprise in Wildau where 9th ranked SG Braunschweig (11-15) was defeated by seventh ranked WSG Koenigs (13-12) 91-73 on Saturday. American Andrew Jones (191-1983, college: Miles) scored 36 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Greek center Georgios Tyrekidis (208-1996) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four WSG Koenigs players scored in double figures. Center Jannik Goettsche (208-2000, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Damjan Milutinovic (183-2000) scored 6 points and 6 rebounds. WSG Koenigs have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position in North with 13-12 record. Newly promoted SG Braunschweig keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
