Very important is a road loss of third ranked Ludwigsburg (13-6) against thirteenth ranked Bensheim (8-15) on Saturday night. Visiting Ludwigsburg was edged by Bensheim in a tough game in Bensheim 96-99. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Ludwigsburg. Bensheim dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ludwigsburg's 32 and made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Bensheim forced 19 Ludwigsburg turnovers. American guard Philip Jenkins (188-1990, college: Life) scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Eric Curth (193-1992) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Paul Minjoth (197-2003) responded with 38 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and BGRn Emmanuel Ugbo (200-2003) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Ludwigsburg's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Bensheim moved-up to twelfth place in South West. Loser Ludwigsburg keeps the third position with six games lost.
