There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Hagen BG (11-14) edged at home higher ranked Hamm (13-12) 90-87 on Saturday. Hagen BG made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game, while Hamm only scored eleven points from the stripe. Hagen BG forced 19 Hamm turnovers. Strangely Hamm outrebounded Hagen BG 58-27 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bulgarian Milen Zahariev (190-1992) scored 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian forward Vytautas Nedzinskas (196-1987) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Hagen BG players scored in double figures. Hagen BG's coach Kosta Filippou used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Kosovan guard Faton Jetullahi (188-1994) responded with 29 points and 9 rebounds and American Josh Boutte (198, college: Angelo St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds. Hagen BG moved-up to ninth place in West, which they share with ETB Miners. Loser Hamm keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Leverkusen 2.
