The game between closely ranked teams ended with ninth ranked Galatasaray's (14-10) road victory over 10th ranked Besiktas (13-12) in Istanbul 74-62 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Melo Trimble (190-1995, college: Maryland, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 9 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Dee Bost (188-1989, college: MSU) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Galatasaray's coach Andreas Pistiolis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (201-1995, college: Arizona) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international Egehan Arna (202-1997) added 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Besiktas in the defeat. Galatasaray moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Tofas. Loser Besiktas keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Galatasaray will meet at home higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Besiktas will play against Tofas (#7) in Bursa and hope to secure a win.
