Regular Season Round 32: Tuebingen - Rostock 109-88
Date: March 27, 2022
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Seawolves (23-7) in Tuebingen on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Tigers (20-9) 109-88. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Seawolves. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Tigers shot 61.4 percent from the field and made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Seawolves helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Croatian Mateo Seric (204-1999) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds and Austrian swingman Erol Ersek (193-1999) who added 19 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. American guard Tyler Nelson (190-1995, college: Fairfield) responded with 29 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and his fellow American import swingman Nijal Pearson (196-1997, college: Texas St.) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Five Tigers and four Seawolves players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers moved-up to second place. Seawolves at the other side still keep top position with seven games lost. Tigers are looking forward to face Gladiators (#5) in Trier in the next round. Seawolves will play on the road against Phoenix Hagen (#8) and are hoping to win this game.
