There was an upset when higher ranked Saarlouis (11-9) were defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Mannheim (7-14) 93-83 on Sunday. Mannheim outrebounded Saarlouis 38-26 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Jeremy Ingram (183-1991, college: AAMU) scored 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Alexander Kuhn (198-1992) chipped in 32 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American guard Ricky Easterling (189-1983, college: Bridgewater) responded with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Edgar Schwarz (185-1996) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Saarlouis players scored in double figures. Mannheim moved-up to thirteenth place in South West, which they share with Kaiserslautern. Saarlouis lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Mannheim will meet league's leader Giessen Pointers on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Saarlouis will play against Tuebingen 2 (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
