Regular Season Round 23: Mersin - Ormanspor 94-63

An interesting game for Mersin (17-4) which hosted in Mersin second-ranked Ormanspor (17-6). Third ranked Mersin had an easy win 94-63. Mersin players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Ormanspor's players. It was a great evening for the former international forward Sinem Atas (185-1995) who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points and 7 assists. North Macedonian-American guard DeWanna Bonner (193-1987, college: Auburn) helped adding 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Mersin players scored in double figures. Mersin's coach Osman Orak felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. International Goksen Fitik (175-2001) responded with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international point guard Sevgi Uzun (170-1997) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Mersin have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Ormanspor at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. Mersin will play against Besiktas (#8) in Istanbul in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Ormanspor will play at home against Antalya 07 (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
