The game in Kapfenberg was also quite interesting. 4th placed UBSC Graz (11-12) played at the court of sixth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (11-12). Kapfenberg Bulls managed to secure a 7-point victory 96-89 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-19. But UBSC Graz won second period 28-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely UBSC Graz outrebounded Kapfenberg Bulls 37-25 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian forward Nemanja Krstic (205-1993) who led the winners and scored 30 points. American guard Derryck Thornton (190-1997, college: Boston Coll.) accounted for 21 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Kapfenberg Bulls' coach Michael Coffin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Randy Haynes (193-1995, college: ODU) came up with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and the other American import forward Lesley Varner Jr (201-1998, college: UTRGV) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for UBSC Graz in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kapfenberg Bulls moved-up to fourth place, which they share with St.Poelten and UBSC Graz.
