The game in St.Poelten supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Gmunden Swans (16-7) played at the court of 5th ranked UBC St. Poelten (11-12). Gmunden Swans smashed UBC St. Poelten 86-64. The game without a history. Gmunden Swans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to UBC St. Poelten's 38. Gmunden Swans players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for American center Branden Aughburns (206-1996, college: Holy Family) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points. At the losing side American forward Chris Ferguson (206-1989, college: Mid-Continent) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Guylain Mbemba (197-2003) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second place with 16-7 record having just nine point less than leader Vienna. UBC St. Poelten at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 12 games lost. They share it with UBSC Graz and Kapfenberg. Gmunden Swans will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UBC St. Poelten will play at home against UBSC Graz (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
