There was a small surprise in Izmir where fourteenth ranked Urla (8-21) smashed 12th ranked Cesme (9-20) 121-59 on Friday. Urla dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Cesme's 40. Urla forced 28 Cesme turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Urla especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Cesme's players. The best player for the winners was Sevgi Gulec (-1998) who scored 28 points and 7 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). Avinar Kaya (-1998) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Urla players scored in double figures. The former international forward Seda Tabakci (188-1985) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and Ince Hayrunnisa (-2002) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Urla maintains fourteenth place with 8-21 record. Cesme lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 20 games lost. They share it with Antalya. Urla will meet at home bottom-ranked Samsun (#16) in the next round. Cesme will play against Rize (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
